Portland's town beach below the Eastern Promenade, and Maine's most reliable everyday hunt. A century of harbour traffic in Casco Bay feeds the rocky end of the beach with whites, ambers, greens and the odd soft blue. Come at low tide and work the gravel, not the sand.
