The world's best-known sea glass beach. The Victorian Londonderry bottle works tipped its daily offcuts into the North Sea until 1921, and the swirled multi-coloured "end of day" pieces, made from the day's leftover batches, are unique to Seaham and getting rarer. Park at the end of North Road and take the steps down; they are steep and slippery when wet. Two harder siblings sit SOUTH of the harbour if you want them: Chemical Beach and Blast Beach (Nose's Point). They are different beaches, not other names for this one.
