A first-hand haul here ran to 200+ pieces / 350 g. The productive ground is the rocky, rubble-strewn area just to the RIGHT of the main car park (Hall Road, by the Coastguard Station). It is Blitz rubble from Liverpool, so expect wired safety glass and sea pottery mixed in. Purple turns up too, the kind you only see held up to the light. Safety, and it is serious: sinking mud and fast, unpredictable tides. The RNLI and HM Coastguard run repeated mud rescues here. Sefton's own rule is to stay within 50 m of the promenade at all tides, which is where the glass is anyway. Do not walk out to the Gormley statues.
