A Victorian rubbish tip sits behind this beach, and the sea keeps giving it back. The local paper describes the shore as "strewn with glass and pottery". Search the shingle at the BACK of the beach, not the waterline. Because the source is a tip rather than a century of tumbling, pieces here are bigger and far less frosted than usual: watch for sharp, unfinished shards and old metal, and wear proper shoes. Free parking at the Oval car park, then a level path behind the dunes.
