Sea glass collected at Glass Beach, Fort Bragg, United States

What Sam Carter found here

Please take nothing here. Glass Beach sits inside MacKerricher State Park: collecting is prohibited, there are signs through the park, and rangers patrol it. It is still the most famous sea glass site in the world. Three town dumps went over these cliffs from 1906, and the sea spent decades turning them into a shingle of glass. But the park superintendent says the amount has greatly diminished, and it shows. Come at low tide, when the wet glass lights up, and come to look. The headlands north of here are city land where collecting is lawful, but the ground is badly eroded and there is no safe way down.
