A shingle beach north of Whitehaven, on a coast built of bottle works, breweries, collieries and iron foundries, which is exactly where the glass comes from. Beachcombing Magazine found it far richer than nearby Allonby: an oval of aqua glass, a Codd marble, a worn sea stopper, and "most excitingly a piece of purple sea glass". Walk north along the shingle towards the low cliffs and the outflow of Lowca Beck. Free car park through the railway tunnel.
