The glass in Puerto Vallarta's north hotel zone is not on the open sand, it is in it. Where the beach turns coarse and stony in front of the big hotels, you can sit down, run your hands through the gritty patches and it comes up. A collector who worked the strip in front of the Sheraton in 2023 came away with glass, shells and old tiles and said she could have taken far more. Two cautions: the pale blue and turquoise "glass" people bring home from this bay is very often broken swimming-pool tile, and locals reported the whole bay running thin through early 2025. Work the stony patches, not the swept sand.
